I was checking the server logs and for about the 14th month in a row I see I am getting hits from people searching for the phrase “how to grow sideburns”. It’s from a comment from one of my friends in May of last year about how I should grow some kick ass porkchop sideburns to go with the motorcycle I just had gotten. I just thought that was strange is all. That’s not even the top search string. The top search from random people on the internet that came to my site is…

“cat humping”

Damn.

Well looks like I didn’t fix the little overheating problem after all. Turns out the problem is the heater core. The passenger floor is now a pool of stinky antifreeze. I didn’t notice it before because I had some toolboxes and other stuff covering it up and the problem appeared to go away when I did the previous fix. I can bypass it for a temp fix but I need to get a new one (and probably have to tear the dash out to get the old one out) before it gets cold so I will have heat. Damn.

Just when I think I dodged it from the front, life sneaks around and kicks me in the balls from behind.

Whew.

I thought I was gonna be screwed there for a little bit and stuck without a vehicle to get to work. My truck was overheating real bad and was about to blow up. Shit like that always happens as soon as I financally stabilize a little and then theres a major problem to put me right back in the hole again. Luckily it was just a cracked radiator hose. It got hot and leaked all of the coolant out so there was none left. I could smell the sweet smell of antifreeze burning off the motor when it happened. I got a hotter thermostat and gasket for it when I was down there getting the new hoze and antifreeze so now it’s ready to keep me warm this winter. The old thermostat was a cold one and it took forever to heat the inside of the truck when it was cold and snowy outside. The whole thing took about an hour and a half and about $30 and it now runs at a steady 210 degrees. I thought for sure it would be something like a water pump because that’s what always happens to me. I need the truck to last me till next year when my “new” vehicle plan will be ready. It won’t be new but it will be nicer than I usually have. That’s all I have for now. Everything is all good now.
